Sheila Sorrel was a singer at the Red Angel nightclub in Mammoth City. Despite having a voice like a frog, the singer's good looks brought in droves of men (mostly gangsters and petty criminals) attending her every whim and fancy. Unfortunately, her beauty could not provide the one thing she truly wanted; ie to be the First Soprano in the Mammoth City Opera.

After turning down marriage proposals from every love-struck mobster in town, she was eventually poisoned by the half-crazed Professor Carlon, one of her many rejected suitors. The serum had the unexpected side-effect for turning her body into living stone.

In this new form, Sheila became psychotic and attempted to murder three people before Eel O'Brian (aka Plastic Man) intervened, force-feeding her an antidote and transforming her back to normal. As her victims outright refused to press charges, Sheila was allowed to go free, finally achieving the fame and fortune she craved so much.

Powers and Abilities[edit]

As the Granite Lady, Sheila possessed the strength and density of stone, making her both inhumanly powerful and virtually indestructible.
